Next Steps for Your Visa Application

1. Complete Your Online Application

Complete and submit your application through the official Chinese consular visa system.

2. Check Your Application Status Daily

After submitting, sign in to the consular system every day to check your status. Do not rely on email or text notifications.

Allow approximately 1–2 weeks for online review. Check for any requests to correct information or provide additional documents, and respond promptly. Mail your passport and required documents to us only when the status shows “Passport to be Submitted.” Passing the online preliminary review is not final visa approval.

3. Mail Your Passport and Documents to Us

Holiday China。The consulate does not accept mailed applications. Send your passport and required documents to Holiday China using the checklist and address below.

4. Consular Submission, Pickup and Return

We submit your passport to the consulate, collect it after the visa is issued and mail it back to you. We estimate about two weeks from clearance for passport submission to collection of your passport and visa.

What to Include

Your current original passport.
After the consulate clears your online application for passport submission, take a screenshot of the first confirmation page in the consular system, print it and include it with your passport. The printout must clearly show all three items: (1) the applicant’s name, (2) the “Passport to be Submitted” status and (3) the barcode. Printing the first page containing all three items is sufficient.
If your previous Chinese visa is still valid, include the original passport containing that visa for cancellation.
For Q1 visas: include the original proof of family relationship.
Any other originals required by the consulate; consult the official requirements for the full checklist.
